Material Selection Testing
Correct materials selection for new projects, or for replacing failed or worn out plant, is important from the aspects of economics, safety and reliability. Our long experience with a wide range of standard and special materials, together with our laboratory testing facilities, enables us to provide a comprehensive materials selection service to the industry.

For many corrosive environments, some information exists for a range of materials. Thus, we can often make materials selection decisions based on information in our extensive library, or from our own experience.

For some environments, either no information exists or none exists for the materials under consideration. In such cases, we would usually prepare a short list of candidate materials, based on our knowledge of their corrosion behavior in other related environments. Exposure testing in a simulation of the anticipated process environment, together with electrochemical testing where appropriate, allows us to generate the necessary information with which to advise the customer.
