Sheffield Testing Laboratories Ltd. (STL) is one of the UK's leading independent companies specialising in testing and calibration. The company began trading in 1880 and has been incorporated under the companies act since 1903.

STL is ISO/IEC 17025 accredited by UKAS for both testing and calibration; it also has the Investors in People accreditation

There are three Divisions within the organisation, Mechanical Testing, Materials Testing and Calibration. Mechanical Testing includes tension, compression, impact, hardness, pressure, torsion and creep and stress rupture. Materials Testing includes chemical analysis, metallurgy and corrosion testing, including high pressure high temperature autoclave testing and sour service testing. Calibration includes force, dimensional, torque and pressure.
